Does a used car warranty include brake discs?

I bought a used Mercedes-Benz E-Class six months ago. The vehicle is a 2010 250 diesel estate, with 27,000 miles on the clock. However, when I put the car in for a service last week, I was told it needed new brake discs and pads at a cost of £700.

I am disappointed that I have been sold a car under the used approved banner with such limited life left in the brakes. Am I being unreasonable ?

No, you are not being un reasonable. If you have taken the car back to the garage you bought it from they should make an adjustment to their price for this.
