Can you recommend a fun first car?

We need to replace our Subaru Impreza Turbo with something suitable for our daughter to learn to drive in. Would you have any recommendations for a car that wouldn't be ruinous to insure for a learner driver but still fun to drive?

A basic Volkswagen Up, SEAT Mii, Skoda Citigo are all fun to drive and, to a lesser extent, a Citroen C1, Peugeot 108 and Toyota Aygo. You could also think about a MINI One 1.2 (which is brilliant), a FIAT 500 TwinAir, or a new model rear engined Renault Twingo.

We are looking for a car that my 18 year old daughter can use (currently a learner driver) but must also accommodate her sister's wheelchair on occasion. Is there anything that would work for us?
