Seat Ibiza windows opening when parked

My son's 2009 Seat Ibiza sport 1.4 3-door has an intermittent problem whereby the windows and sunroof open when the car is parked.
Owner forums suggest various causes; we have tried disconnecting the battery to 'reset' the system, but the problem has reoccured.
This is obviously a security risk, and a great nuisance as the interior is now wet!
Any suggestions gratefully received; I am wary of just depositing the car with the seat dealers without having some idea of possible cause.

There are two standard reasons for this. One is that he is inadvertently pressing the remote button that has a function that opens the windows and roof. The more likely reason is that moisture has got into the locking and windows ECU inside the driver's door and is causing it to malfunction.
