Why is there severe condensation inside my car overnight?

Can anyone explain why my car gets really bad condensation when parked overnight? I haven't had the car long and when i bought it it was assumed that it was because the previous owners had dogs so they had washed the carpets and they hadnt dried out but they are bone dry.

There is damp inside the car, probably soaking the carpet underfelt. Might be due to washing. Might be due to a leak. Since it's a Leon, the most common cause is a cracked or badly fitted pollen filter cover. It's shockingly badly designed and very fiddly to replace. If it is not put on properly, rainwater pours straight into the car through the filter.
