Do winter tyres/wheels have to be the same size as the original ones?

I have a 2013 Ford Fiesta Titanium. The wheels are 205/40 R17. I am now in Denmark and need winter tyres, I've been offered a set of part used tyres which are RAZE 205/50 R16. Would these fit on my car or do I need to keep to the original size?

They would fit your car, but only if you switch the wheels to 16-inch. They won't fit your 17-inch wheels. On the 16s with deeper profile, softer tyres you'll notice a marked improvement in ride comfort.
