Automatic headlights won't switch off

I own a 2013 Ford Fiesta with automatic headlights. For most of the time, I drive the car with the auto setting switched on, but have noticed that the lights are always on, even in bright sunny weather. Is this normal?

In that case the dusk sensor behind the interior mirror is not working. Is it possible that there is some dirt or a sticker on the windscreen covering it?
