Why does my Rover 75 keep cutting out?

My Rover 75 broke down recently. I had the alternator replaced and it ran for a few days, but cut out and would not restart. I was told the fault was a fuel starved sensor, which I replaced. The car then ran for a day, but stopped again. My local garage cannot find any faults, can you help?

Most likely to be the fuel tank sender pump, its relay, or the earth to the fuel tank sender pump or to its relay. Common problem with the Rover 75.
