Which larger vehicle could replace my Toyota Yaris with?

I'm currently driving a 1.3 3-door Toyota Yaris 55-plate and, with a new addition to the family, I'm finding it too small. Do you have any advice as to what is a good car to buy, preferably small and economical to run? I have a budget of approx £6000, depending on how much I get for a part-ex on the Yaris.
