How can I stop a fraudulent personal injury claim?

My insurance company has received a claim from some solicitor specialising in personal injury claims. The alleged accident never took place but they have my registration number, a location and date when my car was in the area.

I'm disputing the claim but my insurance company will not give me any details about who is making the claim - hiding behind the Data Protection Act. How can I get the details of who is making the claim?

Get in touch with the Financial Conduct Authority and also report the solicitors involved to the Law Society. I think your insurers will be fighting this on your behalf, but make it plain to them that if they fail to do so and you suffer the "damage" of increased insurance premiums as a result you will sue your insurers for participating in a fraud.
