Is the BMW 1 Series clutch prone to juddering when pulling away?

I bought a BMW 116d in March, new from the dealer and have been mostly happy with the car. It is now up to about 3500 miles and I have noticed that when the car gets hot (in stop/start traffic or on hot days when travelling at low speeds) the clutch judders excessively when I pull away from a standstill. At first I thought this was due to me becoming lazy with my driving style, but after experimenting, it is induced by exactly the same driving style as when the car is cold and has no problems. The simplest way to get around it is to raise the revs when pulling away but this is not practical in stop start slow moving traffic. Is this a known problem with BMW clutches?

We've heard of a few clutch problems on the 1 Series but for a full list of issues check here: honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/bmw/1-series-e81e87-2004...d

It's worth posting this in the Technical Matters section of the Backroom Forum where someone might be able to offer some help: honestjohn.co.uk/forum/threads.htm?f=4
