Engine blown on Ford S-Max - is it worthwhile fitting a new one?

My Ford S-Max diesel (2007) with 60,000 miles has blown its engine. Before this it was worth £6500. Is it worth replacing the engine?

I've been told the new engine will cost £1500 and £1200 to fit/ Will I get my money back or should I just call it quits and move on?

That will be £1500 for a 2nd hand engine and £1200 to fit it. Makes sense if the garage and the engine you get are reliable. Best done by a member of www.fer.co.uk
