Mazda 3 wheel size - what would you recommend?

According to the Mazda configuration you can opt to have 16-inch wheels for the Sport model although 18s are the default size. Would you recommend keeping with the 18-inch wheels or opt for the smaller ones should that really be available?

Difficult decision because you have to choose between comfort and less susceptibility to damage or handling. The 18" wheels of the Sport make a significant improvement to the handling of the Mazda 3.
