Vauxhall Zafira alarm going off - what's the cause?

I have recently had a problem with the alarm going off on my Vauxhall Zafira. I took the car to my local dealer and they diagnosed it as the courtesy light switch on the tailgate which they replaced. But the problem hasn’t been fixed, can you help?

Well they got it wrong then. The volumetric sensor inside Astras that is designed to detect a door being opened has long been a problem area on Astras.
