My Vauxhall Vectra has poor acceleration

I have been out to start my car. It started fine, but when I went to rev the car there was nothing coming from the accelerator. I tried it a few times and now it's working again. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what it could be before I fork out a few quid.

I'm going to clean the throttle body and stuff in the morning first. Also when I reverse it wants to conk out by revving low and it idling roughly.

Sounds as though the engine is going into limp mode.
If so then the quickest (and most likely the cheapest) way to identify is to have a diagnostic check carried out. which will cost approx £50 to £60.

This check should show a fault code (ie P followed by 4 numbers) which can then be related to the problem - most likely one of the many sensors fitted.

Far better than previous Vectra. Now with decent handling and an excellent ride. Plenty of safety kit. Roomy in the front. Big boot. Good looks.
