What are the best wheels and tyres for a Mazda MX5?
My daughter has a series 1 MAzda MX5 SE with 195-45 R15 tyres on alloys which she wants to refurbish. She needs one new pair of tyres but the other pair have not long been replaced. The current ride is poor and she is thinking of replacing the tyres with 195-50 R15.
1. Will this improve the ride significantly by only increasing the profile by 5 per cent?
2. Can she replace only the worn pair and have two slightly different size pairs of tyres?
3. If so, should the higher profile tyres go on the rears?

Don't change the profile. And better to buy a new set of alloys from www.tyremen.co.uk than refurbish the old ones. Probably costs no more.
