Why is the ride quality on my Kia cee'd so poor?

Whilst I realise day by day am getting much older, I am still of the opinion that the ride on my cee'd is getting worse. Never good, it is now so bad that I am very concerned. Irrespective of tyre pressures the ride is basically the same. When the car was launched the media said cee'd rode better on Continentals which I found on a previous car too noisy. The road holding on the Hankooks is very good. However the stupid Flex steer system is totally dead, with no feel whatsoever. Would changing the tyres help?

In my opinion, both the cee'd and the i30 ride and steer best on 195/65 R15 tyres. But Matt Prior of Autocar put his finger on a caveat. If the tyres are low rolling resistance, they have stiffer sidewalls and consequently a harder ride, which can mean that 195/65 R15s ride harder than 205/55 R16s.
