Which replacement for my Renault Scenic Expression will offer lower running costs?

I have a Scenic Expression 2001 which is great, but has poor fuel consumption and steering in winds, and is on its fifth new coil. I wish to change it and am considering the Nissan Note 1.5 dci N-Tec, the Renault Megane 1.5 or 1.9 diesel, or the Honda Jazz, as I want cheaper running costs. I wish to carry elderly people and a wheelchair in the back, and am soon to be a grandmother also! Which car would you suggest I test drive?

The Honda Jazz is the most practical of those three and has a slightly larger boot than the Nissan Note. It's also easy to get in and out of. We'd also suggest test driving a Skoda Roomster which is an even more practical small MPV that's excellent value and has plenty of rear space, both for luggage and passengers.
