Which wheels and tyres should I have fitted to a 1 Series 120D?

I am considering exchanging my BMW X1 2.0 xDrive for one of the three variants (SE, Urban or Sport) of the 1 Series 120D 5door xDrive. I would appreciate your opinion on these 4WDs and whether 16-inch or 17-inch wheels would give me the most comfortable ride?

With 4WD the 120D steers better than the 2WD and is nicer to drive, even when you don’t need 4WD to cope with snow. Tested here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/bmw/bmw-1-series-f.../. 16-inch wheels with 205/55 R16 tyres will give the most comfortable ride, and Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons M&S tyres not only work brilliantly in snow but can be left on all year round.
