Is there any chance of a goodwill contribution from MINI over a failed Cooper S water pump?

My daughter has a 2006 MINI Cooper S which needs a new water pump. Sytner MINI Sheffield has quoted £590. I read water pumps have been a problem. Do you think there is any chance of a goodwill contribution from MINI?

On the R50 MINI Cooper and R53 Cooper S, water pump pulleys can shear off. But the main water pump problem was with the R56 Cooper S. It was because the waterpump sends coolant through the turbo as well as the engine, and an electric pump continues when the engine is switched off. These electric pumps were overheating and some were catching fire. Your car does not have a turbo, and has a conventional mechanical pump.
