The major electrical fault with our Renault Scenic was just down to a faulty battery.

Regarding the letter from WR of Grays in, we had a similar problem with our Scenic. I took it to our local Renault agent, who, after four visits and two components changed, charged me £575. The problem persisted and in desperation I took the car to another garage - just a small establishment who advertised diagnostic testing. It took them about 45 minutes to come up with the solution to the problem. The car needed a new battery. That was all, as the existing one, by then more than four years old, was raising only nine volts with no load imposed. They changed the battery and I've had no problem since. Needless to say, I complained to the Renault garage and they refunded some of my £575.
