How should I drive my Toyota Auris hybrid on a steep downhill slope?

I drive a Toyota Auris Hybrid, but there seems to be no literature on driving hybrids. The local trunk road has a long steep hill down to a major roundabout and traffic can move one car length, or three or four at a time. I find I lose a bit of confidence in these conditions, afraid I may hit the car in front. There seems to be two ways one can drive down steep hills in a hybrid. Could you detail the right sequence? I use only the right foot for both pedals.

There is a ‘B’ position on the shift stick for this scenario to give you engine and hybrid drive braking when descending a hill. My dad has one. Read the (very thick) manual about this.

Decent combination of ride and handling that might suit some people better than a harder sprung Golf or a Civic. A few inches taller than a Golf of Focus so easier to get in and out.
