Mercedes-Benz E-Class or Jaguar XF?

I have the choice of buying either a new Mercedes E220 CDI or a Jaguar XF 2.2D. Which do you recommend please?

The Jaguar is much nicer to drive: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/jaguar/jaguar-xf-2.../

I can't say if the Mercedes will be more long-term reliable or not. The Jag will need a new timing belt at some time. The Mercedes is chain cam.
