What could replace my Toyota RAV4 which has softer suspension for a more comfortable ride?

I have a long term chronic back injury and yet need to do a fair bit of travel work-wise. I presently drive a Toyota RAV4 and have enjoyed its higher profile which makes it easier to get in and out of. However I find the ride quite firm and, as I feel every bump in the road, I was wondering if you could advise me of softer suspension cars?

Mercedes-Benz and Volvo tend to make models which have the best ride quality. We'd suggest avoiding any 'Sport' trims and sticking to the standard models (generally Elegance and Avantgarde for Mercedes-Benz; SE or SE Lux for Volvo). If you're after something high-up, the Volvo XC90 is extremely comfortable, or if you want something in-between there is the XC70. Volvo is renowned for having the most comfortable seats of any car manufacturer.
