Can I fit 15-inch wheels to my Nissan Almera?

I've got a 2004 Nissan Almera with 16-inch alloys. They look nice, but the ride isn't very comfortable. Are there any other smaller alloys that would fit the car and improve things?

You should be able to go down to 15-inch wheels. Probably better to go steel because second hand alloys could have gone porous.
