Selling a car - auction or private sale?

I want to sell my May 2003 Mazda 6 Sport petrol hatchback with 103,000 miles on the clock. Is auction a better way than privately selling it?

Trade books at £680 with 88k miles. Drops to £580 with 103k miles. Not worth selling at auction because the commission will take too much of the price.
