Does my Irish registered BMW need an MoT to be sold in the UK?

I live in the Republic of Ireland and want to sell my 2001 BMW M5. The market here is very quiet, so I want to try and sell it in the UK. Does it need a UK MoT? It has the Irish equivalent (NCT) and is in perfect running order.

The equivalent of the UK Mot in any EU country is valid in the UK.

As always, the problem with selling a car like this privately is insurance. Even assuming you brought the car to the UK, your buyer won't be insured to test drive it. You might be forced to use something like www.sure-sell.info
