Range Rover Evoque starting to rust – what should I do?

I took delivery of my Range Rover Evoque last month, but have recently noticed a small rust spot with some bubbling of the paint around the wing. I took it back to the Land Rover dealer who has taken photos to refer it to head office.

However, the dealer was uncertain if Land Rover would do anything as he thinks it has been caused by bird poo. I am confused, as the car has been cleaned regularly. I now worried they’re trying to fob me off. What can I do?

If it's clearly a paint defect then the dealer who sold you the car has to invisibly rectify it, even if that means repainting half of the car.

Absolutely no chance of a bird dropping eating through the paint sufficiently to leave it unprotected. A stone chip could, though.
