Which Ford Mondeo should I buy, 1.8 TDCI or 2.0 TDCI

I'm looking for a used Ford Mondeo, my budget will probably get me something registered in 2008 or 2009. I notice that when new, the price differential between a 1.8 TDCI and 2.0 TDCI was only £400. When buying used however, the price differential is significantly more.

For my money, I can buy a 2.0 TDCI but notice that for my budget typical mileages are around 80,000. For similar money, a 1.8 TDCI of similar age would show lower mileage of circa 50,000. Trim level doesn't bother me too much, but which is the better buy and why?

The market is very good at sussing out what is bad and what is good. In fact, when new, the horrible old 1.8 Tdcis were heavily discounted so there was a much greater transaction price difference. Avoid the 1.8 TDCI.
