DPF issues with my Jetta on St Helena?

I had my car - a Volkswagen Jetta 1.9TDI DPF - transported to St Helena and now it never exceeds 30mph. Following short trips the light on dash has come on. We have no sophisticated diagnostic tools so what do you suggest?

It's rare for the 1.9TDI to be fitted with a DPF. But basically the car is unsuitable for the use to which it is being put. There isn't an answer apart from having thew DPF removed and the ECU recalibrated, and presumably there is no one capable of doing that on St Helena.
