Thinking of changing my Audi 1.9tdi 130 Avant 04'

I have an Audi A4 1.9tdi Avant Sport 04 with 170k miles on the clock. I have owned the car from 6k miles and have taken great care of it both from a maintenance & driving style perspective. To date it has been utterly reliable and on my daily 135 mile commute still gives me over 48mpg, but I'm getting itchy feet and would like something newer.

I don't want to spend more than around £14k and I am considering a BMW 320d M Sport Touring or Audi 2.0tdi A4 S-Line Avant with around 50k miles on the clock.

I would plan to keep for 6/7yrs so they would end up with over 200k on the clock. I have heard you say that the best Audi A4 engine was the 1.9tdi 04 vintage. Should I 'stick' or 'twist'?

Why M Sport or S-Line? In exchange for the bling you get a much harder ride, less steering feel, poorer fuel economy, shorter tyre life, tyres and wheels that are more prone to damage and tyres that are more expensive to replace. Go for the ES or SE versions and get a younger, lower mileage car that goes as least as well, steers better and costs less to run for the same money.
