Did you know that the 158bhp 2005 Toyota Avensis injectors are prone to carbon build-up, and expensive to replace?

Did you know that, unlike the rest of the range, the 158bhp petrol Avensis is fitted with direct injection where the injectors are fitted into the cylinder walls? They are prone to carbon build-up, causing the engine management light to stay illuminated. The injectors are extremely difficult to get out. Toyota quotes £3000 to replace, plus VAT. Mine packed up at 120,000.
