Why do all new model launches feature left-hand drive cars?

Is there a subliminal EU conspiracy to make us all drive on the right hand side of the road? Motor manufacturers' adverts on UK television now all show left-hand drive cars, usually with an English voice over. This mirror imagery has spread insidiously to the Daily Telegraph (21 April, 2012) where, two pages beyond Honest John's column there is "The English Test" (sic), being a review of the latest Vauxhall Insignia with pictures of a left-hand drive cockpit, as well as a head-on photo of a car with a GB number plate and its steering wheel on the left-hand side. How English is that?

Two million cars a year are sold in the UK. About 20 million a year are sold in the EU. Most 'international' car launches take place somewhere in mainland Europe, which is where the photos you refer to are taken. In world terms, Britain is now a relatively insignificant country, populated by people with a superiority complex based on nostalgia.
