Suzuki Splash or Suzuki Swift?

I own a six-month-old Suzuki Swift which I bought VAT-free last year. My wife is now looking at a Suzuki Splash, which I think may be a mistake. They are currently available from £7777 (for a 1.0-litre) but I think that she'd do better with a Swift, which is also available VAT-free. Is the Splash not old hat?

The Splash is an upright city car, easier to get in and out of, better for older people and with an excellent cantilever one-touch rear seat folding arrangement that leaves a flat floor. Even the 1.2 is now under 120g/km CO2, so annual tax is £30. And Government figures show that the Splash has the highest first time MoT pass rate of any car selling more than 2000 a year in the UK, and it’s also just been facelifted.

Excellent equipment across the range, great fun to drive regardless of the engine, sport version is huge fun, 4x4 is great for rural areas.
