Should I replace my 2007 Audi A3 now before it develops any expensive problems?
My present car is a 2007 Audi A3 SE 2.0 litre TDI automatic that I have had from new. I do limited mileage (total 25,000 currently) and have much enjoyed the solidity and the luxury (metallic paint, leather seats, etc). I've had a trouble-free five years but am now starting to ponder whether I ought to be looking at a replacement sometime soon. Any replacement is more than likely to be my last car.

It's a good idea to move the car on while it still has some value and before it develops the well-known oil pump drive problem, and also before it needs a new timing belt. You could switch to the new, lighter A3 or move down to an A1, preferably a 1.4TSI 122. You don't want a diesel with a particulate filter for your limited type of driving.
