Can I have my Mk6 Golf fitted with a sunroof?

I would appreciate your opinion on having an aftermarket sunroof fitted to, say, a used Mk6 Golf. Is it wise? And would this be something for my Volkswagen dealer or an independent? Also the same question with steering wheel controls, as Volkswagen seems strangely unwilling to fit them as standard.

Definitely do not do this. It will lead to warranty and insurance problems. If you want a car with a sunroof, buy one with a factory-fitted sunroof. You can, for example, get one on the Renault Megane that is now at least as well built as a Golf with far fewer faults emerging. Steering wheel controls cannot be retro-fitted.
