What do you think of the Toyota GT86?

Having owned a 2004 Toyota Celica for eight years, I am wondering whether to trade it in for the coupe GT86. What do you know about it? Alternately, the Urban Cruiser sounds a good bet, but I do prefer a coupe.

The GT86 and equivalent Subaru BRZ are brilliant, uncompromising sports cars, very responsive but lacking power and torque at low engine speeds, and that may not be what you want. Test and video: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/toyota/toyota-gt86/

An Urban Cruiser is totally different. That's a small, boxy thing, at its best with the 1.4 D-4D diesel engine and four wheel drive. Test and video (it was really stupid of us to get it stuck in the soft sand): www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/toyota/toyota-urba.../

Alternatively you might want to take a look at the Hyundai Veloster: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/hyundai/hyundai-ve...o

Or, of course, a Volkswagen Scirocco that can be had in many forms from mild to wild..
