My daughter's Corsa was very easy to restart after storage.

I was surprised that my daughter's car, having been parked up for more than four weeks, outside her home, on the street started first time. It's a three-cylinder 1.0-litre Vauxhall Corsa and the original battery was replaced a few years ago. The one problem I had was the rear drum brakes had bound on, but soon came unstuck as the car slowly moved forward in first gear. I then took it for a run to charge the battery.

You're doing a good job. But if a car has been parked for four to six weeks after a reasonable run, the battery should remain in good shape unless there is a leakdown drawing current somewhere. And, since a Corsa is quite a simple car, there are less chances of that with it than, for example, a Mercedes S Class. You still did the right thing taking it for a charging run.
