Should I sell my diesel Audi A4 now before problems arise?

I have an Audi A4 Avant S line quattro TDI 2.0 litre diesel (170PS motor) with a BRD series engine. I purchased the car new in 2006 and have now done 52,000 miles with only one breakdown due to a faulty injector (repaired out of warranty). My original intention, thinking, perhaps wrongly, that a diesel engine would be good for 200,000 miles, was to run the car for as many years as economically possible, but reading about modern diesels and potentially expensive repairs at low mileages I now wonder if that is a sensible option? Would you advise me to alter course and change the car now and if so would you recommend a petrol engine for better life?

VAG has now issued a TSB recall to replace these piezoelectric injectors, so you may be in for some money back. I'd move the car on and replace it with the 2.0TFSI 211 petrol-engined A4 quattro. That engine is now chain cam and has no DPF or oil pump drive to worry about. Audi’s smaller chain cam 1.8TFSI got a power hike in December from 160 to 170PS. That’s a good engine too.
