Which tyres should I fit to my Nissan X-Trail?

My 2004 Nissan X-Trail 2.2 dCi Sport has run on Dunlop GT20 Grandtrek tyres for 125,000 miles since new; mostly on-road, but also off-road at times.

I normally achieve 40-45,000 miles and it is now time to buy another new set. A friend has suggested that Pirelli Scorpions might give a quieter ride. This would be good, although I am more interested in the relative performance of each make, both on-and off-road before deciding. What do you suggest?

There are five different types of Pirelli Scorpions, depending on what you want to use them for. The most road-biased are Scorpion STRs. The more off-road-biased are Scorpion ATRs. But that's a good mileage for the Grandtreks given the sort of use you describe. For the most detail, got to tyrereviews.co.uk
