Is the Volkswagen Eos a good purchase?

My wife and I wish to purchase a hard top convertible. We presently own a five-year-old BMW 3 Series with 38,000 on the clock. We think the Volkswagen Eos looks promising, but do you have any advice or other suggestions for us?

We road tested the Eos here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/volkswagen/vw-eos-.../ but be aware of the negatives here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/volkswagen/eos-2006/

That said, reports about Eos leaks now seem to have dried up, although you might stay less wet in a Volvo C70: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/volvo/volvo-c70-20.../ and www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/volvo/c70-2010/
