Can you recommend some new tyres for my Skoda Yeti?
Last year I bought a 2WD Yeti and have been very pleased with it. I recently had the first service (15,000 miles) and was informed the front tyres needed to be replaced. This seems poor performance in one year, bearing in mind I am no boy racer and didn’t drive much in the ice and snow last winter. As I have to replace the tyres can you recommend a make that balances good life with a reasonable cost? Tyre size is 215/60 R16 and the fitted tyres were Continental.

Depends what sort of performance you want from them. Do you want an on-road or off-road tyre? Do you want an 'all-weather' tyre? Generally Michelins last longest, and appropriate tyres are Michelin Latitude or Michelin Latitude Alpin. A good general on-road / off-road tyres is Pirelli Scorpion (5 types). But Tyre Safety Council advice is always to put the new tyres on the back and move the part worn back tyres to the front because that gives better straight line stability when braking in very wet conditions
