New car or five-year-old Octavia estate?

Six years ago I bought an 03 plate 1.9 diesel Skoda Octavia Estate for £6k with under 80k on the clock. It now needs replacing and I don't know whether to go for another 5 yr old equivalent Octavia estate which now cost between £7k and £10k or go for the brand new one about to come out?

I would want to keep the car for at least 5 years but I won't want to have a lot of problems during that time as I need something reliable and could handle up to 700 miles a week. I know that new cars depreciate very quickly but I thought perhaps the peace of mind from the extended 5 yr 100,000 mile warranty would make this better?

You could buy a car that comes with a 5 or 7 year warranty anyway, like a Hyundai i30 1.6CRDI SW or KIA cee'd 1.6CRDI SW. So far, they don't seem to have DPF problems, but VAG's 1.6TDI has had DPF problems. They are a bit smaller than the new Octavia estate.
