Pothole claim - I can report some success

I took your advice from the Telegraph when, as you had predicted, Hertfordshire County Council rejected my claim for a new tyre to replace the one destroyed by hitting a large pothole.

I submitted a Freedom of Information request for a copy of all fault reports on the section of road concerned from a month before my incident to a month after, also the date when the fault I reported had been fixed. There were 15 fault reports of severe potholes in just 2 months - and it took 18 days to repair the fault I had reported.

The council then stated they had reconsidered my claim and would pay it in full. Success - but wouldn't it have been better for all concerned if the potholes had been repaired promptly?

Clever person. Very smart thinking. Well done. The problem is the council probably does not have the resources to fix all the potholes that occur in its area.
