Mercedes Warranty - what's the best way to renew?

I need to review my warranty for my Merc Ml63 AMG. It's a 2007 and has 58k on the clock. I can renew via Mercedes either tier 1 or tier 2 cover for between £1,000 and £1,500 per year or via Warranty Direct at £950 per year.

I can't decide which would be the best to take out.

If bought via the Mercedes dealer then there will tend to be fewer arguments over claims because they will be less likely to come up with fake problems.
