What car would you recommend

I currently drive a 1.6 2007 SEAT Leon and do about 18,000-20,000 miles annually. It's never let me down however I would like to have a more fuel efficient car. I do a lot of motorway driving and I 'd like to stay in the same size car.

I'm considering a used Golf, Ford Focus or another SEAT. What car do you think will give me the best mpg? My budget is between £10k and £12k.

I averaged 55mpg over 8,000 miles in a 2008 Focus 1.6TDCI 110 Econetic without stop start. The 90PS is more economical. But your budget might buy the current model with the more reliable 1.6 8v 115PS engine.
