Is a Mercedes-Benz good long term car?

I currently drive 20,000 miles a year on a 120 mile round trip commute which is mainly motorway and have a 6 year old Mazda 6 diesel with 120k on the clock. This is a reliable car and will probably keep for at least another year.
As I keep my cars long term would a Mercedes-Benz over 10 years be sensible/good value (C-class estate) or should I be looking at other makes?

I think a C200CDI could be a good bet long-term. But a 320dED is a better drive and much more economical.
