What's causing this uneven wear?

My wifes 2010 reg Peugeot 207 has a problem with excessive tyre wear on the front 'passenger side ' wheel, while the 'drivers side' wheel has perfectly normal even wear, so I don't think it's a tracking issue. The wear is located on the outer edge of the tyre.

When turning the steering wheel right, I hear some peculiar noises from the same side and as if I was driving on rough ground.

I hope you can shed some light on the matter.

Could be a bushing problem. Try swapping the front tyres side to side and see if that improves the situation.
