Should I buy a used 1.4-litre Hyundai i30?

I'm looking at the Hyundai i30. Will the 1.4 petrol have plenty of power for the size of car. Or is the 1.6 diesel a better option.
We only do about 8000 to 10000 miles a year.

Plenty of power and very smooth, but quite low geared so not a brilliant motorway car.
