Engine reluctant to start

Our Peugeot 107, seems reluctant to start. It used to start at the turn of the key but recently it either starts then dies or does not start at the first turn of the key. It is almost as if it is starved of fuel and then gets it's act together, any ideas please.

So far it has been excellent with no major problems
