Should I go for a Soul instead of a Jazz?

You recently commented that a Honda Jazz as a better bet than a Citroen C3 Picasso. I was on my way to buying a Jazz when I read that the average age of a Jazz purchaser (let alone driver) is 62. You may think the reason is ridiculous, but that fact alone made me decide not to buy the Honda - and now I am seriously considering a Kia Soul instead.

Apart from anything else I really like the looks and warranty. However, I am totally overwhelmed by the Kia Soul's range of engines and specs. I have £6000-6800 to spend. What engine and spec would you choose for this money.

The Soul is impractical compared to both the Jazz and the C3 Picasso. Does not have the space or the versatility. Does have a weird funky look. A pre-DPF 1.6 diesel probably makes the most sense.
